What Is National Educational Alliance For Technology (NEAT) Scheme?

National Educational Alliance for Technology or short known as NEAT has been introduced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). NEAT is first of its kind government scheme launched to utilize advanced technology for better learning outcomes in Higher Education.

Schools and institutes have been continuously trying to keep up with the trends and provide the best courses and facilities to students. Still, some portion of students in our country find it difficult to avail appropriate help to overcome various barriers. There are still some institutions that cannot afford to integrate advanced technology or they don’t have access to proper tools and systems.

Therefore, to give equal opportunities to students and a platform for educational institutions, NEAT was launched in the Ministry of Education in September 2019. NEAT primarily focuses on eliminating gaps between academic institutions, students, and Ed-tech companies. The Ministry of Education could notice the benefits of Ed-tech platforms that develop an enormous amount of learning tools that can easily take over traditional teaching methods.

Roles and Responsibilities of the NEAT Scheme

  • The NEAT scheme aims to create a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model between Ed-tech institutes and the Government.
  • The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) will facilitate free education using Adaptive Learning Solutions for economically backward students.
  • As per NEAT, managing students’ registrations and creating better solutions using the National Educational Alliance for Technology portal will be the sole responsibility of Ed-tech companies.
  • NEAT also aims to launch Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS) platform to help students find better opportunities.
  • The NEAT scheme ensures the financing of higher education for economically backward students and gives them new opportunities to learn new skills.
  • It helps strengthen the education system and provides better learning opportunities to youngsters.
  • NEAT ensure better optimization of the learning process with the help of AI (Artificial Intelligence). Hence, NEAT helps teachers or instructors to make the learning process more interactive and engaging for the students.
  • NEAT facilitates conducting different awareness workshops or social media campaigns to attract more students.
  • Implementing Internship Policy, Internship portal, and related matters

Products on Display 

The NEAT portal has different sections as per the product listing for the students and organizations. Till now, 58 Ed-tech companies have collaborated with NEAT for future learning perspectives. The companies are shortlisted after deliberate consideration and research by an independent expert committee set up by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development.

The educational institutes can visit the NEAT online portal and find the offered courses under the B2B section. They can purchase their required courses and make them available to the students. On the other hand, the B2C section is also included in the portal from where students can browse their preferable courses and buy as per their preference. The course list includes accounting, finance, coding, advanced programming language like python, etc.
