About Lesson

The second video explains the simplest sound of Beatboxing – hi-hat. The Hi-hat sound is created by making a “t” or “ts” sound using one’s mouth. To make a hi-hat sound, you need to keep the tip of your tongue behind your front teeth. Hi-Hats sound is again classified into different types such as:

  • Open hi-hat
  • Close hi-hat
  • Inward hi-hat
  • Reverse open hi-hat
  • Fast hi-hats

However, the closed hi-hat sound replicates the basic hi-hat sounds. You can create this sound by building pressure in your mouth and tongue and releasing air from the sides. Simultaneously, also learn about snare (K) sound which is produced by touching the top of your mouth using your tongue tip and breathing in air from using your lungs.
