Course Content

Introduction
This is the first video on the Abacus which explains what is Abacus, history of the Abacus, and how to learn Abacus. Abacus is a calculating table that originated in Babylon 5000 years ago. The word Abacus is derived from a Greek word called ABAX, which means a tabular form. Abacus is used to do any arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in seconds. In this first video, the teacher, Medha Sharma, will share with you the first fundamentals related to Abacus. There is a special rectangular Abacus tool that consists of multiple rods, and beads that are moved up and down using fingers. In this video, you will also learn about how to read the Abacus beads.

Lesson 2
In the second video, the instructor shared more information about the beads and bars. There are two types of beads such as upper beads and lower beads. In addition, there is a Rod, beam, and frame. The most central rod is considered as the one place of numbers. Each bead of the upper deck is considered as 5 while each bead from the lower deck is taken as 1. To learn to count from 0 to 9 in the Abacus tool, watch the video till the end.

Lesson 3
In the previous video, you learned how to count from 0 to 9 on the Abacus tool. This video is all about counting from 10th place. You can see small white dots on the beam. The rod immediate left to the dotted rod is called the tens place. Each bead in the tens place rod of the lower deck is valued at 10 and the bead in the upper deck is valued at 50. Isn’t it interesting? Hence, watch the entire video till the end to learn more tricks and tips on Abacus. You can watch these videos as many times as possible for you to get your doubts corrected.

Lesson 4
In the previous video, Miss Medha Sharma taught you how to count from the number 10 to 60. In this session, she has revised the same thing and has played a “play and fun” activity with you all. Hence, don’t miss the class and watch it thoroughly.

Lesson 5
In the last class, you had been taught to count to 60. Therefore, in this video, Miss Medha Sharma has explained how to count from 60 to 100 on the Abacus tool. As now you must be good at reading the Abacus tool, then you must have known that each bead in the tens place rod of the lower deck is valued at 10, and the bead in the upper deck is valued at 50. To count from number 60, you need to pull down the bead of the upper deck of the rod next to the central rod and pull up one bead of the lower deck of the same rod. That will be counted as number 60. Then to move forward with the number, you need to pull or down the beads of the central rod.

Lesson 6
This is a crucial lesson, friends. In this lesson, you will learn the advanced level of Abacus, which is, the Finger Movement Rule. Most arithmetic calculations are done on the finger movement rule of the Abacus. In this unique rule, you will use your index finger and thumb finger. To pull up or down the beads, you need to use these two fingers of your left or right hand. The teacher, Medha Sharma, has also shared the way how to apply the finger movement rule and some activities. Solve all the activities with her and be a pro in Abacus.

Lesson 7
In the previous video, you got to learn how to learn to use your fingers in Abacus. Now, in this lesson, you are going to learn how to count to the number 50 using your index and thumb fingers. Wow! Isn’t it exciting? So, let’s start. Here, you need to use your right hand to count one-place numbers and your left hand to count tens-place numbers. This video will teach you to use all your fingers of both hands to count to the number 50. Watch it carefully till the end and recurrent the video if you have any doubt. But be sure you have understood every single detail shared in this video.

Lesson 8
Do you know you can count numbers to 99 using only your fingers and that too in minutes? Yes, in the previous video, the teacher, Medha Sharma, has shared with you the easy and simple method to count to 50. In this video, she has revised the previous lesson and also brought you a Finger Test Activity. Hence, watch the video without skipping any part of it.

Lesson 9
In the previous two videos, you have learned to count up to the number 50 with the help of your fingers. However, in this video, she has covered the rest of the numbers up to 99. To do so, you need to use the fingers of both hands. For example, if you want to show the number 53, you need to use the thumb finger of the left hand to make the number 5 and the index, middle, and ring fingers of the right hand to make the number 3. In this way, you can make any number up to 99 with the help of your fingers.

Lesson 10
Now, friends, you have learned and practiced all the numbers till 99 using your fingers. In this lesson, you will do some finger activity with the teacher. She will show you her fingers, and you need to answer the correct number. We ensure you will surely enjoy the activity. There is another activity shared by the teacher where she will move up or down some beads on the Abacus tool and you need to guess what the exact number is.

Lesson 11
Throughout the last 10 sessions, you learned about how to count from number 1 to 99 with the help of your fingers and completed some fun activities. Now, in the 11th video also you will do some activities and solve some questions on Abacus. Observe thoroughly how, the teacher, Medha Sharma is teaching the exact way to count and place the beads. In addition, she also brought some questions on how to identify the beads and write the correct number. Hence, don’t miss it! Hurry up.

Lesson 12
In this session of Abacus by Mittsure, the teacher has shared some more questions. She explained each question thoroughly by counting the beads and shared the correct answer. You can watch this video as many times as you want, note down all the questions in a notebook, and practice during your leisure time.
